"Road Safety" - Together with Garozas pamatskola
On 11 April 2025, the "Gemeia Long-Distance Drivers Academy" driving school, in cooperation with the Parents' Council of Garozas pamatskola, organised an educational event called "Road Safety", during which more than 100 pupils took part in activities to learn about traffic safety and behaviour on the road.
The aim of the event was to raise pupils' awareness of traffic safety in an engaging, child-friendly and practically applicable way.
The team of the "Gemeia Long-Distance Drivers Academy" driving school was glad to get involved in organising this event, offering educational activities and running several event stations.
Before the practical activities, theoretical lessons were organised for all class groups, in which pupils learned the most important traffic rules and safety principles. Each age group received information appropriate to their age and level of understanding.
Pupils had the opportunity to learn various aspects of traffic safety in practice by taking part in several exciting activities:
- "Sign, take action!" - a game in which children learned a wide variety of road signs and their meanings;
- Road sign puzzles - pupils assembled puzzles in teams and identified various road signs;
- Wheelbarrow track and bicycle obstacle course - developed balance, reaction and a sense of the road;
- Truck inspection - children could get a close look at a category C truck and learn about its blind spots as well as a driver's everyday work;
- Prizes and gifts - all participants received surprises from the driving school: reflective vests, reflectors and commemorative souvenirs.
Throughout the day, pupils not only actively participated and learned, but also received stamps for taking part at the stations, as well as awards for the curiosity and activity they showed.
We believe that road safety begins with education, and initiatives like this are a significant contribution to the overall safety of children and society. Our goal is not only to prepare professional drivers, but also to foster a responsible traffic culture from an early age.
Thank you to Garozas pamatskola for the trust and the opportunity to collaborate!
